Small business website design that gets you found — and that you actually own
Most small business websites are rented. You pay every month, someone else holds the keys, and the day you stop paying it disappears. I build custom-coded sites you own outright — fast, mobile, and built to get found on Google — starting from $3,495.
A website you own, not one you rent
A lot of small business sites get built on template platforms and page-builders. They look fine on day one, but you don't really own them. You're renting the design, renting the hosting, and paying monthly for plugins to keep the thing running. Stop paying and the site goes dark — along with the address your customers have been finding you at.
I build the other kind. Custom-coded, no page-builder bloat, no stack of paid plugins to renew every month. When it's done it's yours — the code and the domain both. That's an asset on your books, not a subscription you're stuck feeding for as long as you're in business.
Small business website design built to load fast and get found
A site only earns its keep if people find it and it loads before they lose patience — most of them on a phone, standing in a parking lot. I hand-build every page to be fast and to read clearly on a small screen, and I set it up the way Google's own guidelines ask for, so you're not fighting the search results from behind.
Here are the receipts: my own auto shop's site scores 100/100 on Google's SEO and best-practices audits — the same checks I build yours to pass. Getting the site right is one half; getting it to rank for local searches in Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Culpeper and the rest of the corridor is the other half, and that's the local-SEO work I cover on the Get Found Online page.
One piece of the whole operation
A website isn't a trophy — it's how an owner-run business gets found and shows who you are before anyone calls. That's why I don't sell it in a vacuum. I've spent 14 years in the automotive trade and still run my own shop, so I look at your site the way you'd look at a bay: does it bring work in, and does it hold up?
That's what the free Operations Review is for. Before I quote anything, we walk the whole operation — the website is just where it usually starts — and I scope a real number to your business. Everything recurring is month-to-month, no annual contracts, and you own what I build. I work in person across Central Virginia — from Locust Grove and Orange out to Charlottesville and Richmond — and remotely with owner-run businesses anywhere.

Common questions
How much does a small business website cost?
A business website starts from $3,495. The exact number depends on how many pages you need and what the site has to do, so I scope a real quote after the free Operations Review — never a guess over email. Anything recurring, like the optional care plan from $149/mo, is month-to-month with no annual contract.
Do I actually own the website?
Yes — the code and the domain both. That's the whole point. When the build is done it's an asset you own, not a subscription you rent. If you ever want to move it or hand it to someone else, nothing's holding it hostage.
Will it actually show up on Google?
I build every site to Google's own SEO and best-practices standards — my own shop's site scores 100/100 on those audits, and I build yours to pass the same checks. That gets the foundation right. Ranking for local searches near you is a bit more work on top of that; I cover it on the Get Found Online page and we can fold it in.
Do you only work with businesses in Central Virginia?
In person I cover the Fredericksburg and I-95 corridor and Central Virginia — Spotsylvania, Stafford, Culpeper, Orange, Louisa, Charlottesville, Richmond and the towns around them. Website work I do remotely with owner-run businesses anywhere, since it doesn't need me in the shop to get it done.
