Native Mobile

AI Repair Pros.

A 2024 mobile prototype: an AI-powered appliance repair assistant — describe the problem out loud, get guided troubleshooting, capture photos of the model plate. Built on React Native, shelved before release.

The mobile lane of the appliance-repair work: an app where a homeowner or tech can describe a problem out loud, get structured AI-assisted troubleshooting, and capture photos of model plates and symptoms along the way.

The engineering

React Native 0.72 with TypeScript targeting iOS and Android from a single codebase. Clerk for auth, Supabase for the backend, Redux Toolkit for state, native voice recognition for hands-busy troubleshooting, and image capture with cropping for documentation.

Why it's here

Because not everything ships, and a portfolio that only shows winners isn't a portfolio — it's advertising. This one answered the consumer side of appliance repair: help the person with the broken fridge. What I learned building it is that the leverage was on the other side of that phone call — with the shop trying to answer it. That insight became the Pro Suite, and the +$169K that came with it.
